Luis Merino, (1954), is a graduate of a Medical School and holds a Masters in Business Management.

All his professional career was linked to ‘Unión Radio’, which belongs to the communications concern, Prisa Group. Started in 1975, Valencia, holding different positions and becoming Sub-Director of Conventional Radio and ‘Radio Fórmulas’.

In 1989 moves to Madrid to lead ‘40 Principales’ Radio Station as General Manager. In 1996 was appointed to manage the ‘Radio Fórmulas Musicales’, creating new product policies, around Multi-Product Radio Stations, launching new stations and developing the brand ‘40’ in media (40TV, los40.com, Revista 40 etc), and other lines of business (i.e. 40 credit card etc.).

In 2001 was appointed to lead the Leasure & Entertainment line of business of Prisa Group, taking care of all music business and TV production.

In 2006 took charge as Music Business Director of Unión Radio, which includes music programming of the international network of radio stations and digital channels (TV), continuing the development of ’40 Principales’ brand in all dimensions and managing the music related business.

Luis is President of the Music Jury for ‘Premios Ondas’ prize, and member of the Board of Trustees of the Grammy’s Prize since 2008.
